If a sugar hit is what you’re craving, you’ll find many deliciously decadent, chocolatey treats at Canberra Centre.  We’ve curated a list of 12 retailers offering scrumptious treats sure to satisfy the most discerning sweet tooth, from delicious individual pieces to indulgent desserts. 


1. Haigh’s Chocolates 
Location: Level 1, near David Jones MAP

Haigh’s Chocolates is Australia’s oldest family-owned chocolate maker. Established in Adelaide in 1915 by Alfred E Haigh, the company is now in its fourth generation of Haigh family ownership. They are committed to the art of premium quality chocolate making from raw cocoa beans.

Our Pick: Haigh’s & Warndu Range – Pairing specific native Australian ingredients to showcase the best of their chocolates, and the diversity of flavours found in Australian native ingredients. The range includes Milk Chocolate with Finger Lime and Dark Chocolate with Davidson Plum. 


2. Gelatissimo

 Location: Level 1, outside Apple MAP

Gelatissimo's award-winning gelato is made fresh in store daily. With no artificial colours or flavours, and unique flavours launching regularly it's a must visit spot. 


Our Pick: Gelatissimo’s Winter with Lindt range – Two delicious limited time flavours made with Lindt chocolate: The Choc Caramel Fudge features a chocolate gelato made using molten Lindt chocolate and rippled with a smooth, luscious caramel fudge sauce; and the Dark Choc Pistachio featuring molten Lindt chocolate is used to create a rich, chocolate gelato that is then rippled with a pistachio cream. 


3. PassionTree Velvet 
Location:  Ground Level, Monaro Mall MAP 

Passiontree Velvet is inspired by the traditional tea houses of England and fine European patisseries; offering a modern day twist on the world of edible luxury, featuring an array of delicious macarons, cakes and tempting treats. 


Our Pick: COCO Noir Cake – A delicious layered slice of cake heaven featuring dark chocolate sponge layered with chocolate mousse, dark chocolate ganache and glazed with dark chocolate.  


4. Koko Black
Location: Bunda Street, North Quarter MAP

Koko Black offers Australian-made gourmet chocolate bars, pralines, truffles and more, using premium natural ingredients.

Our Pick: Chocolate Dipped Fruit - The range of chocolate dipped strawberries and other tropical fruit, which is perfect for a sweet mid-morning or afternoon snack.


6. Donut King
Location: Ground Level, Coles Mall MAP

Offering freshly baked donuts daily, Donut King is the perfect spot for sweet tooth's to find a delicious chocolatey treat to satisfy their cravings.

7. Kingpin
Location: Level 1, North Quarter below Dendy MAP

Awarded Canberra’s Favourite Entertainment Venue 2020, Kingpin is the perfect location to enjoy a range of entertainment activities alongside some delicious treats. With a fantastic bar and food menu there are plenty of day and late night food options to choose from. 

Our Pick: The Ferroro Rocher Pizza – Nutella, roasted hazelnuts, vanilla wafers, Ferrero Rocher, topped with vanilla ice-cream, we can’t think of a more perfect dessert pizza option to share with loved ones. 

8. Acai Brothers
Location: Ground Level, Coles Mall MAP

Acai Brothers are renowned for creating delicious, healthy food options. Specialising in acai bowls, coffee, smoothies, raw treats. Their products are vegan friendly, gluten free friendly and refined sugar free.


Our Pick: Choc Treat Yo-self bowl – deliciously chocolatey acai, choc buckinis, a choice of 3x fruits, Coyo organic yogurt, chocolate sauce, cacao nips and raw vegan treats to top it off, what a fantastic combo!

Raku offers dishes designed to be shared with friends and family, and a sleek modern design. Raku combines the precision and artfulness of Japanese culinary history, with the vibrant energy of modern Australian dining.

Our Pick: Japanese Whisky chocolate fondant with sticky miso caramel – This delicate dessert is as pretty as a picture, and served with Nikka ‘from the barrel’ ice-cream. The perfect chocolate dessert to celebrate a special occasion. 


10. INKA
Location: Bunda Street MAP

INKA offers diners the world’s most cutting edge cuisine, Nikkei Cuisine, which combines the fusion of Japanese recipes and traditions with Peruvian ingredients. INKA’s kitchen is run by Michellin Chef Michael Muir and offers dinners a unique dining experience.

Our Pick: Chocolate Fondant with Warm Miso Filling, dulcey Ice Cream – Gooey, full flavour chocolate fondant, the perfect gourmet dessert to finish a meal. 


11. Gozeleme King
Location: Ground Floor, Coles Mall MAP

Gozleme King also specialise in dessert options. From Nutella Baklava, or a Caramelised milk pudding called Kazandidbi, a 3 layer milk pudding called Rraliche, and a Nutella Gozleme there’s plenty of delicious sweet offerings in store to choose from. 


Our Pick: Nutella Baklava – Anything Nutella is always a winner, but paired with the crispy Turkish dessert baklava this crunchy Nutella Baklava is a scrumptious treat.  


12. Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co
Location: Bunda Street, North Quarter MAP

Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co. is a classic burger shack, serving the freshest, mouth-watering burgers around. As with any great burger, it needs a supporting cast and in this case, their house-made frozen custards or “concretes” are the perfect dessert option. 


Our Pick: Rich Brownie Ice cream – Rich and indulgent chocolate creamy custard ice cream, with pieces of brownie cake and swirls of fudge sauce, a delightfully icy dessert!
